Moving right along to book 23

I finished Arthur Goldens magnificently written novel last night- I totally cried at the end *blush*- and began another book entitled:
Three Day Road

It is the first novel written by a wonderful and relatively new Canadian author named Joseph Boyden- it was written only a few years ago but I believe he has written more since then.

Its really interesting provided you are into Canadian history; its about war, the plight of Native people in Canada, a young Cree boys coming of age and his "wild"aunt who saves him from his worst enemy- his post-war disturbed mind. I think it's a very well written novel that anyone and everyone should read.. Canadian or not, Native or not, male or female etc.

I'm already 125 pages in and it's about 400-something pages in length.... I look forward to continuing to read it and hope to finish it by Thursday.. wish me luck.

Book 22 and moving along quickly...

I now face the final book in L.A Banks amazing series, but have decided to wait and read a different book before finishing the series. You might find yourself wondering why... why would she stop now? Why stop when the end is so near? Well, to be quite honest, I feel like a little repose is in order so that I will better appreciate all that the final book will have to offer, and I also want to give my best friend a chance to catch up to me- I talked him into to reading the series and he has been unable to stop though being 2 books behind.

And so in the meantime I chose a different text off of my shelf and I'm finding it very difficult to put down.  So far I have read 159 pages (or ten and a half chapters). I thoroughly enjoyed this particularly exquisite work of fiction the first time I read it, but now that I am re-reading it, I find myself relishing in each page and detailed description even more. Some of you may have read this novel, many more of you may have seen the movie that was based on it... curious yet??

The novel which takes the 22nd place on my listed bookshelf is Arthur Golden's astonishing novel:

Memoirs of a Geisha

The novel was first published in 1997  by Knopf Canada with a more recent edition by Seals Books (a trademark of Random House of Canada LTD) in 2005, which is the copy I am reading. Unfortunately, it is the movie cover but in this case I made an exception because I loved the movie as much as I loved the book.

I hope to finish this novel by this upcoming week and I cannot wait to read the last book in the Vampire Huntress Legends afterwards...

Check out my copy...

The shadows.. book 21

In 2 days I actually managed to read in its entirety, book number 11 of L.A. Banks killer series, The Vampire Huntress Legends and now there is only one book remains..

If your an aficionado of classic Transylvania and Rome, then you will certainly enjoy all that Banks offers in this definitely hard to put down book and I hope you might endeavor/be brave enough to read through the series to reach this point.

I found this particular book to be high on female empowerment and emphasizes the important roles that women play in any society, culture, family or world really. There is all manner of "baad, gangsta sistah" up in this part of the series and Damali Is in it to win it against the devil's consort- Lilith.

Check but the cover etc... while my inner feminist who hates pink cringed at the shade of the title and Damalis top in the pic, by the end I saw It more as a "you go girl" colour.. perhaps stereotypical to the gender norm but hey it worked for me.. I'd colour the world pink for the ladies in this novel!

Check it out.. ps sorry the pics are sideways.. my phone camera didn't want to agree with me :( will keep working on it..
