Book 18 on the shelf..

The ending of The Forsaken brought me to absolute blinding tears and nearly stopped my heart.. each book just kicks my emotional butt harder and harder but it is well worth it.

I've moved onto book 8 in Banks' series, entitled:
The Wicked

The plot gets twisted further still as new characters are added on all sides and new greater challenges arise. Like the synopsis of this books says "there is no happily ever after".  Especially not when your a Warrior of Light Guardian.

Again an amazing opening dedication by L.A Banks. Girl you knew what u were doing, and now u finally know where u are. Rest in Peace.

"I'm back in the saddle again" reading book 17..

I sped through The Damned quite quickly and it felt good finish a book in under a week... I'm keeping up the stirring while this literary soup is turning so we can cook a little faster through this series. So without any fan fare and much less ado I give you...

The Forsaken -book 7 in L.A.Banks' VHL series.

Just when you thought all was lost, a little shines down and the earth is once again illuminated by the Creators divine love for us.

The following pictures are of course the cover, but also the first few cover pages and the dedication. I agree with Banks in her dedication.. faith, hope and love are often times the only thing we can rely on in this ever greying world. Let the light shine!

Finally posting on Book 16..

I've been reading slow but I finally finished book 5 of the Vampire Huntress Legends series by L.A Banks and have moved on to the next book entitled:

~The Damned~

This novel's dedication is as follows: "This book is dedicated to all those who keep hope alive, move with faith, and who work in the Light spreading love. Let your Light shine!"  I feel that L.A.Banks managed to achieve just that in the witness of her own life through her written work and her charisma.

You can't help but be moved by Banks' characters... I've even managed to  influence one of my best friends with this series and now we are discussing the novels at large and spent a good half hour clarifying some situation confusion over a very foamy cup of chai tea ;)

We've gone all around the globe with the Warriors of Light/Neteru Guardian team, suffering losses and reveling in joys. Vengeance enacted and debts repaid above and below as the Covenant team and Guardians acquire new skills and new crew in very surreal situations. Level Seven sends a big contender and Damali finally settles the personal injustice faced while repaying an old debt and sending more than one soul up into the arms of the All Mighty. Carlos and Damali gain wisdom from the elders and learn to value love over power with each passing day. The Shaman tell Damali that her team will be fortified and strengthened with new members so that they will be complete in faith, love and the number 12.

I found myself crying out of sadness, happiness, grief and relief during the entire ending of book 5 The Forbidden and I am looking forward to this next episode in this thrilling series.

This next book can be found in the direct middle of Banks' series, book 6 of 12 and sets the groundwork for the next section of the riveting journey that Carlos and Damali will face with their ever growing team.

Check it..

Nearing The Middle...

As I began book 5 of the Vampire Huntress Legend series, I decided now would be a good time to give you some interesting info that I had come across some time ago:

When I began reading L.A. Banks amazing series many years ago, there had been a post on her website (http://www.vampirehuntress.com/leslie.html) about someone creating the Isis blade IRL... well, I finally found images of this spectacularly forged sword and thought you'd be interested...
Madame Isis
The hilts house the Chakra System stones
I found the images along with the following information on a website called the Devils Candy Store: http://thedevilscandystore.com/devil_html/contraband.html

Madame Isis Hero Sword

Designed and made by Hollywood armourer, Tony Swatoon of "Sword and Stone". The Madame Isis sword was handmade by Tony Swatton, a master bladesmith who has created the swords for Zorro, Blade, Pirates of the Caribbean and Hellboy.
The 42" blade is forged from stainless steel and has a cruciform cross-section based on L.A.Bank's description from her Vampire Huntress Series. The hilt is cast in Bronze by the lost wax process and gold plated around various gemstones that correspond to the body chakras

Cool right? In 2009 the promoters for Bank's novel held an essay writing contest and guess what the prize was... Madame Isis of course! Crazy right? You can find the winner and the winning essay at the following link: http://thedevilscandystore.com/devil_html/madame_isis_contest.html

Well, back to the grind!
